About the Chef
A graduate of Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Chef Mike Holdridge has worked with some of the best chefs in their field and at some of the finest restaurants and resorts in the country. Mike's resume reads like a who's who list of the most influential people on the planet. While working as the executive chef for a restaurant in Michigan, a customer loved his food so much, heplayfully insisted that Mike stop in the middle of service so he could personally compliment him on his food. That customer was Muhammad Ali. This encounter led to Mike becoming Ali's personal chef for over five years and to this day they remain close friends. Mike has also cooked for other celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Larry Holmes, Bob Costas, John McCain, Roger Staubach and many more. Mike has decided to come home and bring his exceptional talents back to San Angelo by opening the unique River Valley Cafe and Grill. Using only the freashest of ingredients, menu items are made from scratch with no detail overlooked.
